Introduction
Barron & Rawson Pty Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy of all personal information received in it's business dealings, and is governed in the collection, use and storage of personal information by the National Privacy Principles which are contained in a Schedule to the Privacy Act 1988 as amended by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

· Ability to contact employees, customers and suppliers

· Assessment of potential employees

· Administrative functions of the company

· Ability to review employees industrial injuries and accidents

· To communicate marketing information with existing and potential customers

Personal information may be collected in a number of different ways eg :

· Directly from you eg employment application information, banking details and phone contacts etc.

· From 3rd parties such as employment agencies, references etc

· From publicly available sources

· When legally required to do so

Barron & Rawson Pty Ltd does not use electronic means or cookies to acquire personal information other than general communications via email.

Personal information may be disclosed to appropriate parties in certain circumstances as required by law or under normal business practices eg

Access to Personal Information
Barron & Rawson Pty Ltd has an open policy on the access of personal information by individuals and promotes the confirmation by individuals that any personal information held is correct and up to date. Access to personal information can be gained via a request in writing to the Privacy Officer of the company. The company may decline access to personal information if the information requested is not relevant to, or concerning of the applicant.


Disputes Arising re Personal Information
If a dispute arises regrading the access to personal information, a complaint can be lodged with the Privacy Commissioner for consideration and resolution. The resolution may include publication of the dispute and/or the determination of compensation to redress any loss or damage to an individual.


Storage of Personal Information
Barron & Rawson Pty Ltd takes every precaution in the safe recording and storage of personal information, and provides the following security safeguards :

· Any electronically stored personal information (computer) is secured by individual passwords to each computer terminal and can only be accessed by the relevant operator or department managers with a genuine need for the information.

· Any personal information stored in print form, is retained under locked office or locked storage cabinet conditions or within coded safes, and can only be accessed by senior personnel with a genuine need for the information
